Our Head Guide:
George "GP" Monta
George “GP” Monta is a 7th generation Montanan. Born and raised in Montana, George’s family homesteaded in the Big Hole Valley in 1868. Some years later the family traveled to the Bitterroot Valley which he has called home for the past 26 years. As a young man George grew an obsession for fly fishing. Small streams and rivers were his home as a child, teaching him more life lessons than he knew. Despite having no resources or mentorship, he dedicated himself to learning everything he could about the sport and honing his skills. He spent countless hours on the river, studying the habits of fish and perfecting his technique...
...That obsession would later develop into a passion of teaching others the sport and putting clients on fish. Through hard work and determination, George became an expert fly fishing guide, securing a number of return clients along the way. For the past 5 years, he has led hundreds of trips each year for anglers of all skill levels, and has a reputation for being knowledgeable and patient. In addition to his passion for fishing, George is also deeply committed to conservation. He is dedicated to preserving Montana's natural beauty and sharing it with others...
... Now, with years of experience under his belt, George is ready to take the next step in his career and start his own outfitting business right here at home in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley. He is excited to share his love for fly fishing and Montana's great outdoors with both in-state and out-of-state visitors. George is determined to provide the best possible experience for his clients, while also being a responsible steward of the land and its resources.
